Community bonds are a social financing tool that charities, non-profits and co-operatives can use to leverage the power of their community to finance socially and environmentally impactful projects. Much like a traditional bond, community bonds are interest-bearing loans that allow investors from the community to put their money toward meaningful projects, while also earning a financial return.
Join us on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, at 2 p.m. ET for this free webinar about how affordable housing providers can use community bonds to finance energy-efficient projects, and how pre-construction support from the Green Municipal Fund’s (GMF) Sustainable Affordable Housing (SAH) initiative can help position retrofit projects for alternative financing at the capital stage.
Featuring expert advice from Tapestry Community Capital and a real-world case study from a Canadian housing provider, the webinar will explore how community-based financing can support energy-efficient and low-carbon retrofits. It will also demonstrate how early project development and planning supported by SAH can help organizations pursue these types of alternative financing approaches.
