Annual Report
In 2023-24, GMF had our most impactful year yet, as we invested nearly $200 million in local projects and secured more than $820 million in new funding. We’re helping communities across Canada access funding, knowledge and capacity to face the diverse challenges of climate change and environmental sustainability by undertaking innovative, scalable projects that make a real difference.
GMF’s Three-Year Plan
Since GMF’s inception in 2000, it has been Canada’s leader in helping municipalities transition to sustainable solutions, faster. It has supported more than 2,000 municipal projects and been entrusted by the Government of Canada with several rounds of funding, including the recent $530 million through the Government of Canada Climate Adaptation Action Plan to help support and accelerate community-based climate adaptation initiatives.
The new GMF Three-Year Plan outlines its exciting next phase. The Plan includes a renewed organizational purpose, vision and three-year strategic objectives based on 23 years of experience and a newly revised federal funding agreement.
