Many municipalities have climate plans, emissions reduction targets and community energy goals. Turning those plans into action, however, often requires funding that extends beyond grants and traditional sources of support.

Join the Green Municipal Fund (GMF) and Dunsky Energy + Climate Advisors on Tuesday, November 24, at 2 p.m. ET for Beyond Grants: Unlocking new revenue for municipal climate action.

This webinar will explore practical financing mechanisms that municipalities can use to support climate mitigation projects and generate sustainable revenue. Participants will gain an overview of tools that are available within municipal authority and hear directly from municipal leaders who have implemented innovative approaches to advance local climate objectives.

Through real-world examples and expert insights, you'll learn how municipalities are creating new funding pathways to support long-term initiatives such as district energy systems, community renewable energy projects and other climate infrastructure investments.

The session will also highlight how GMF funding can help municipalities take their next steps.

What you’ll learn:

  • Explore innovative revenue tools and financing mechanisms available to municipalities.
  • Learn how Canadian municipalities have implemented revenue-generating approaches to support climate action.
  • Understand how funding strategies can encourage low-carbon behaviours while generating revenue.
  • Identify opportunities to support long-term projects such as district energy and community renewable energy initiatives.
  • Discover how GMF funding can help move your project forward.
